Meet HUDDLE: Care for Babies, Support for Parents

The newborn phase can feel overwhelming, emotional, and full of questions. HUDDLE was created to give families personalized, expert support during those early months. Founder and pediatric nurse practitioner Jessica shares what inspired HUDDLE and how her team helps parents feel confident and cared for.

Tell us about yourself and your practice — what inspired you to found HUDDLE?

My name is Jessica, and I’ve been a pediatric nurse practitioner for about twelve years. What I’ve always loved most about my job is supporting families during those first few weeks of parenthood—when everything is brand-new, emotional, and sometimes a little overwhelming. I really enjoy taking questions that feel huge in the moment and helping parents walk awayfeeling calmer, more informed, and assured.

You can’t really care for babies without caring for the people who are up at night feeding them, worrying about them, and adjusting to new daily rhythms. My goal is always that parents feel confident in themselves—not just in me. I try to show up for families in a way that feels collaborative, offering education and advice that leaves parents feeling empowered to make decisions that feel right for their whole family’s well-being.

Like many people who work in healthcare, I often field questions from friends and family about their babies– “What’s this rash?” “Should we go to the emergency room? “How do I know if I’m making enough milk?” This quickly turned into a nightly habit of saying, “I’m going to sleep, but my ringer is on if you need anything. ” It’s never burdensome; it always feels natural and meaningful. What began as simple reassurance for loved ones grew into HUDDLE— something that feels like having a nurse friend you can reach out to whenever you need a little comfort or advice. We are a small team, and from your first intake call to your 2 a.m. baby questions, you will always speak to me as your first point of contact. We limit the number of families we work with at a given time so that we can promise to continually offer this level of one-on-one care and attention. I’m excited to share more about HUDDLE today!

Can you describe specifically how parents typically work with HUDDLE?

Our most comprehensive option is our night nursing service, where Registered Nurses (RNs) provide in-home overnight care for newborns. Families are billed hourly, and for the first 4 weeks of service we provide in-home lactation, virtual mental health, and pediatric telehealth

support at no additional cost. Additionally, we offer a pediatric telehealth membership, which provides unlimited access to virtual care for a flat monthly fee. Whether you need a quick visit because your baby’s eye looks red, a 30-minute discussion about a fever, or a full hour of virtual lactation assistance, it’s all included. Members can also text us anytime through our secure patient portal. My goal with this service is to reduce that constant background worry for parents and make sure you’re never left relying on late-night Google searches for answers. Our website includes a full list of services, and you can customize which professionals you connect with based on your family’s needs.

How does HUDDLE complement (but not replace) your pediatrician?

That’s such an important distinction. The recommended wellness checks for babies can be spaced anywhere from about a week apart in the newborn phase to every few months once they’re over six months old. That leaves parents with some extended stretches between wellness visits–and that’s exactly where we can fit in. I see our role as a supplemental layer of support—helping to guide parents individually between pediatrician visits. With a combination of in-home and virtual services, we bring comprehensive care to the comfort of your home. There are many symptoms in children that require an in-person appointment to properly diagnose and treat, and we will always refer you back to your

PCP in those instances. Furthermore, we can support you in carrying out a plan of care as instructed by your pediatrician. For example, if your baby has reflux, our night nurses can follow your doctor’s recommendations, document how the night goes, and monitor for new or worsening symptoms while you rest. Beyond the newborn phase, families can reach out to us about illnesses, ongoing lactation and feeding questions, starting solid foods, nutrition, development, sleep routines, and general parenting questions. We’re here to bridge gaps, help provide clarity where uncertainty comes up, and give peace of mind to the parents we work with.

What are some issues parents face in the early months of parenthood that HUDDLE can help with?

What a family needs can vary day-to-day in the postpartum period. We’ve built a team that covers some of the most common aspects of new parenthood that families struggle with; sleep deprivation, newborn care education, breastfeeding, and parental mental health. Our team includes pediatric nurse practitioners, registered nurses, lactation consultants, and mental health professionals who collaborate to bring personalized care to each family we serve.

What is the ideal child age range for HUDDLE?

Right now our focus is on a child’s first year of life. As we grow, we plan to expand our in-home services for families beyond those early months, which will include offerings like in-home gentle sleep-training, potty-training, and developmental and behavioral health services. My hope is thatthis approach builds trusted, lasting relationships that continue well beyond the fourth trimester.

How does HUDDLE support parents emotionally?

The newborn period can be emotional, joyful, and often a little chaotic. At HUDDLE, we take time to understand who each family is—what they value, how they hope parenthood will feel, and what they need in order to thrive. From there, we provide support that helps parents feel grounded, capable, and confident in the decisions they make. Our services are designed to provide consistent care for babies, which naturally creates space for parents to rest, recover, and emotionally recalibrate. Many families share that they feel isolated or overwhelmed during the early days, and HUDDLE becomes a steady presence—offering guidance, reassurance, and connection when they need it most.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our community of new moms?

We want every family to feel like they have a team in their corner—a group that listens, supports, and celebrates each milestone with them. HUDDLE isn’t just a service; it’s a community built by experienced clinicians who care deeply about families. We can’t wait to connect with this community!
